About SPARKS RC Club

Background and Facts about SPARKS

SPARKS as it is known throughout the community is a private club, not affiliated with any hobby shop. We have an active membership of all types of aircraft and helicopter enthusiasts. We typically have members at the field any Saturday or Sunday from AM till dark. Several of our members are retirees, they will be out during the week, generally on Tuesday; or Wednesdays.

Flying Field

The SPARKS RC Club flying field is located within A.E.Dyess Park, a 113 acre facility which is part of the Harris County Precinct 4 family of recreational facilities. The field is leased and maintained by the SPARKS RC Club in Spring, TX. The beautiful field is an irrigated grass field that is mowed weekly. Over time additional improvements to the field likely will include a new sheltered pit area. The gated field is generally open to certified members and their guests during daylight hours. There is a portable bathroom onsite, in addition to the park facilities nearby. The field has five protected flying stations, more than a dozen tables, and a long chain-link fence designed to limit accidental spectator access to the runway.
