Pilot Rules
SPARKS RC Club
- Pilots must be a SPARKS member or a guest accompanied by a SPARKS member.
- Pilots must have proof of AMA membership.
- Pilots must either pass the SPARKS Flight Proficiency Exam before flying alone or fly under the direct supervision of an instructor. No exceptions.
- Pilots must fly from the flight stations, keeping their planes north of the flight line at all times and south of the neighbor's barn
- No more than 5 planes can be in the air at any time
- Announce all take offs, landings, and walking on the runway
- Full scale airplanes have the right of way and all models must move far away from them when spotted
- Pilots must not be under the influence of alcohol or other drugs that may adversely affect their judgment or reaction times
- No hovering over the runway without permission from other pilots.
- Only AMA & FCC approved aircraft transmitters allowed
- All pilots must obtain a frequency pin and leave their AMA card - even those flying 2.4GHz. Maximum time of 20 minutes when sharing a frequency.
- Engines should only be run in the starting area
- All other AMA rules not listed must be followed
- Violations of these rules will result in the loss of flying privileges
