About SPARKS RC Club

Background and Facts about SPARKS

SPARKS is a private club who’s vision is to be the friendliest community of flyers, the safest place to fly, and to have the best field & facilities. We believe we have achieved the first two and have plans to enhance our field & facilities. We have an active membership of all types of aircraft and helicopter enthusiasts. We typically have members at the field any Saturday or Sunday, mostly in the early morning. Several of our members are retirees and meeting during the week, generally on Tuesdays or Wednesdays.

SPARKS Flying Field

The SPARKS RC Club flying field is located within A.E.Dyess Park, a 113 acre facility which is part of the Harris County Precinct 4 family of recreational facilities. The field is leased and maintained by the SPARKS RC Club in Spring, TX. The beautiful field is an irrigated grass field that is mowed weekly. The gated field is generally open to certified members and their guests during daylight hours. There are men’s and women’s restrooms onsite as well as water, electricity and lighting under our 80’X25′ covered pit area. The field has five protected flying stations, more than a dozen tables, and a long chain-link fence designed to limit accidental spectator access to the runway.

Directions to the field which is located at the far northwest end of Dyess Park, 16822 Kitzman Rd, Cypress, TX 77429.
